One used to be able to download Microsoft Office from the Microsoft
website. [IIRC, it cost about a third more than buying it from the
local Staples.] I don't have the inclination to find it on the
Microsoft website, but I'd be surprised if Microsoft no longer
permitted its authorized resellers to offer that option.
