Hi Dan,
Would you believe that I have three toolbars there now and after clicking
visible buttons on each one of them and seeing three lists of options, on not
one list are the basic things I want:
Bold
Italics
Underline
Font colour
Highlighting
I would have thought these would be the first things any amateur was wanting.
Regards Tom
PS Also how do I get rid of the three unwanted toolbars that I am sure are
useful for someone?

Click the arrow at the right end of the toolbar to open a menu.
The top listing should be Visible buttons. Click it. This opens the
list of possible buttons for that particular toolbar. Click the ones
you need. (You will have to do this for each button you choose as the
menus close with each selection.)
