hello there. Have just bought my wife a new Acer laptop, pre-loaded with Vista Home Premium. I downloaded OpenOffice 2.2.1 yesterday, but Windows refuses to recognize the file format. Is this due to Vista having a different OS than XP ( I use 2.2.1 without problems om my PC with XP/SP2) ? Or can somebody please explain how I can get the laptop to load and run 2.2.1 ? thanks in advance, Paul Allen
You'll have to be a little more detailed. Are there any error messages? Have you installed OOo, and is the issue only after you have created a file and then tried to reopen. I've used OOo 2.2.1 on Vista and it has worked fine so that's not a problem.
