This error is usually because the path to a file or files needed is
either too long or else not available. Have you installed the
application in an unusual folder, perhaps with an over-long path? Or
was it installed on a network or other detachable drive that is no
longer connected?
When you try to repair an application, the system will need access to
the original installation files. It will think it knows where these
are. If you have moved these or deleted them, you will get an error
like this, as the path to the installation files is no longer
valid. Did you perhaps install OpenOffice from a CD? If so, you
will very probably need to insert it again if the "Repair" function is to work.
If all else fails, find your original downloaded file (or CD, as the
case may be), unpack or copy the file again *to somewhere on the hard
disk* and run the installation again. Not only should this correct
any installation problems, but it will also update and correct your
operating system's idea of where the installation files are.
I trust this helps.
