You have to be careful with this approach, as it combines all the text in the document into one long paragraph. Writer has a limit of about 64k characters in a single paragraph; if the combined text grows beyond that, the document will be corrupted and you will lose or garble some of the text.

An alternative strategy which avoids this is:

Search for: \.txt$
Find All

Search for: $
Replace with: _x_
Options: Search current selection only

Search for: \.txt_x_
Replace with: ;<space>

Or some variation thereof.
