The Outline function is still very wanting. See Issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3959 A summery is here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Writer_Views I have used Outlining in M$Office Word 2000 extensively, and the "Outline numbering" as used in OOo Writer (& Navigator) is not the same as outlining in M$Word. I also need a good outline tool for writing large papers.
