[users] Can I 'upgrade' old Open Office files to the new version?

I am using Open Office 2.2.1 on Window XP - which is my second version 
of the program. 

Is there a way to 'upgrade' all the documents I have done on the earlier 
version of Open Office so that I do not have to keep multiple versions 
of Open Office on my system?
