You may also wish to check her paragraph settings in styles. You can increase 
or decrease the pts before and/or after each paragraph, as well as the line 
spacing within each paragraph. Whatever spacing you choose, then you can set it 
as the default spacing.

Why would the spacing be affected if using Metric? Isn't 12 pts the 
same in metric? Is there an issue with the conversion?
