Your question should really be addressed to the authors of "Style
Writer". What I glean from their website, this software is exclusively
Windows based and may possibly rely on Windows OLE for it's integration
link with MS Word. OOo (OpenOffice.org) on the other hand is a multi-OS
(eg. Solaris, Linux, etc.) program and uses a somewhat different
structure for extensions and add-ons.

From the "Style Writer" FAQ's:

What word processors does StyleWriter work with?
StyleWriter works with all versions of Word for Windows. It also works
with WordPerfect and AmiPro. You can also use StyleWriter with any
Windows application through the clipboard. You need to have Windows 95
or later.

In my view (could be wrong) it should be possible for "Style Writer" to
ingrate with OOo in a similar way. However, this is not something that
can be done from the OOo side and would require the "Style Writer"
developers to provide this functionality. The OOo source code and
development tools are readily available to anyone who wants them, so the
"Style Writer" developers would have no difficulty in accessing the
necessary information, if they chose to do so.
