Your ISP may disconnect you after this amount of time, or there may be line
noise, or you may be running out of disk space where OO is downloading to. You
can order OO on CD for minimal cost at
http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/index.html#cdrom , or see if you know
anyone with a faster connection and a CD burner that could help you out. I
don't know of anywhere to download it in parts, but someone else may know of
something.
soffice.bin is not supposed to always crash. Please provide details on
when/how it crashes and what Operating System you are using.

I am using version 2.2 of OpenOffice.org. My problem is : I have dial-up, and
when I tried to download the update, it disconnected at 5 hours... it was at
75%, and I can't keep trying: it takes too long. So, like when I downloaded
the original, is there a way I can get the same update in parts? Please help
me. Also, is soffice.bin always supposed to crash?

a) Forwarding to unsubscribed OP
b) Also, many computer magazines carry CDs or DVDs with OpenOffice on them. Make sure you get a magazine relevant to your Operating System and check the version of OO on the disc.
