I just clicked on the donations link, and had a few issues, to the extent that
I did not make a donation. When I keyed in an amount, in US Dollars, it was
stated as Euros, without any reference to conversion. I then added a Dollar
sign in front of the amount, and it presented me with an error message in
red.

It would be nice to either accept the amount in the currency entered, after
all, that is the amount that the credit card or Pay Pal is going to charge
the donor; then convert the amount to Euros, so the donor can see how much
OOo thinks it is receiving.

Second thought: Most of us lowly users, while very adept in creating documents
and spreadsheets, are probably not adequately skilled in the necessities of
creating and maintaining a product of the caliber of OOo. Therefore it would
be nice if the "powers to be' could provide a link to a list of skills
needed.

Third thought: Thought #2 brought me to an interesting idea that I would like
feedback from the "behind the scenes powers" of OOo. As a donation, I am
considering mailing out for free, a CD with appropriate OOo programs,
samples, macros, etc. on it. I would like to fill the CD, as the additional
mailing expense for the additional data is minimal. I will only send one to
each address, so I do not fund a company selling the CD. I will also limit
the number that I will send in total, representing the amount that I am
willing to contribute at this time. I would like a ISO file with CRC date
fir each file from OOo. I would check each file after burning the CD to make
sure the files are correct. I would like to think that this could be the
start of something, as others could do the same thing, each in their own
country, to limit the mailing expense. There could be a list on the site of
each person performing this service, along with their email address to send
the request to.

Thoughts?
