Hi,
I use OOo 2.2.1 and have the following probs : 1. under Windows as well as Linux : the tool for downloading fonts from the web crashes at the end of operations and installs nothing at all (no new font installed ...) I'm using winXP and 2.2.1 and have just successfully installed new fonts. Are you sure that you have restarted OOo prior to checking whether new fonts have been installed or not (restart of OOo is required for new fonts to be noticed)... Was there any error message? What version of windows are you using? -Yes : message error : Run Time Basic Error -I'm using Windows XP -Yes i restarted OOo as well as Windows itself but nothing allowed me to get new fonts 2. under Mandriva Linux 2007.1 (as well as 2007.0) : the menu shorcuts to OOo do NOT appear because Mandriva changed menus from an old system to XDG menus, the RPM you provide only installs shortcuts on old editions of Mandriva Linux, not on recent ones ! Please, build a RPM menu shorcuts for new editions of Mandriva Linux : we cannot use latest version of OOo ... Sorry I don't use Mandriva but I pasted below some replies other users to your issue have received... " I am also using Mandriva 2007. Mandriva changed the KDE menu so the included rpm package does not work. You must add them one by one. When I installed OOo 2.2 in the place of 2.1, the application types (word processor, spreadsheet, etc.) were in the menu but the individual application shortcuts were not. (I had to remove 2.1 before I could install 2.2: not enough space left on /.) Short story: you will have to add them. Right click the KDE menu icon and select Edit Menu to do this." "A couple of users have published scripts on the forum [to correct the issue]: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=196481#196481 http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=46056 " - dont you think the best solution to this Mandriva problem should be to build a new RPM package (compatible with Mandriva 2007.x editions and upper) which would be integrated within the downloadable OOo2 Linux RPM i386 version ? 'tis always better to search the forums and email archives prior to posting about bugs. It is often that someone else has had your issue prior. If none of the above resolves your issues, post back to the list... /paul -thanks and regards. -- Processing Key for cracking HD DVD's: 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 ----- Try Torpark; a small portable, open-source, built on Firefox browser that enables anonymous browsing.
