Word count has been available since 2.0: Tools|Word Count At the end of the work session the author can simply open Tools|Word Count and make a note (perhaps at the end of the doc/chapter) of what the word and character count is. Also, File|Properties|Statistics shows: Number of Pages Number of Tables Number of Graphics Number of OLE Objects Number of Paragraphs Number of Words Number of Characters Number of Lines Ideally I suppose that it would be really nice to have a feature to save the statistics to a file.
