Doesn't work in linux dev2.3. I don't think that it will ever work
properly in linux until work is completed on gstreamer and/or a proper
use of an alternate media player is linked and JMF is discarded. If you
look at the JMF files the newest one is dated May2003.

OOo distro specific versions have already solved the problem (Ubuntu &
Suse to name a few); Ubuntu did it because the Sun solution wasn't GPL
opensource at the time so they went to gstreamer, I think that Suse and
a few others have done the same. Interesting though, I can't seem to
find the required license modifications documentation that shows how
Ubuntu & others have fixed the problem with gstreamer. I'm sure they are
there somewhere, but finding them hasn't been easy (for me). What I'd
like to do is add/import the gstreamer solution; either as a
plugin/extension or even an xml file modification... anyone know how to
do this?
