I just started an empty Draw document, drew a rectangle, made a text box and then tried to select them both. Most of the time it doesn't work, sometimes it does. No error messages or anything. I don't think it's worth sending you the document. Thanks for the offer, though.
Harold, there must be something unique in your environment, or your actions. I've just repeated your described actions in 2.2.1 and the 2.3 developer snapshot 680m218 (Win XP) and it works just as expected every time, with either the shift key, or dragging around both objects???
