Give us some information like your operating system. How are
you creating these files how are you trying to open them? What
are you doing or trying to do?

Also if you did not know this we are all volunteer users and
not paid tech support, none of us work for Openoffice.

When you say Word do you mean as in MS Office or do you really mean Write as in Openoffice.org?

Give more detail of how you were being switched to Openoffice.org and from what?

Probably the easiest thing for you to do is un-install OOo and download the newest version, if you don't have it, and install again.

Tell us the operating system you are using. I assume it is Windows, but which one?

Also it will work better for you to send to the list and not just to me. More people will see your post and can respond to it maybe quicker then me and maybe with a better answer then me.

You should subscribe to the list so we don't have to send you a copy directly.
