The OpenOffice "Word" program is called OpenOffice Writer. 
   
  To change your default settings click on the following found on the menu bar 
at the top of the screen:
   
  TOOLS > Options > OpenOffice.org Writer > Basic Fonts (Western)
Click on the Default button located on the lower right of the dialog box and 
check/uncheck the checkbox for "This document only"

No, but if they keep asking the question with the wrong terminology, 
they will never get what they are looking for. And that has nothing to
