Hello

The problem is not that OOo 1.1.2 is a VERY old version (which it is),
but that your operation system is Jaguar, which isn't implemented in
newer versions of OpenOffice.org. The mac porting team is already
lacking man-power in order to provide a version for Panther (Mac OS X
10.3), so it isn't feasible to continue building versions for Jaguar
(10.2). Later this year, Apple will launch Leopard (10.5)... and OOo
will present a stable version for Aqua (without X11), but that
probably won't work on Jaguar either.

You probably have an older machine that doesn't allow you to upgrade
to Panther or Tiger (10.4, the current version of Mac's operating
system). In that case, I'm afraid you're stuck with OOo 1.1.2. The
information you found on the website is correct. Other users
responding to your mail weren't aware of the porting problems for
older versions of the Mac OS.
So the link is correct:
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11-102.html

I'm no specialist on Jaguar or OOo 1.1.2, but the series of help on
the x11-102 page should help you along. Take another read of this page
X11: the help says a 4.3 version of the X11 windowing program is
included in the download. I suppose it's advisable to use only this
version, not any upgrade to be found on the Apple website or wherever.
I've checked whether NeoOffice (a 'fork' of OOo that is native on Mac)
offers a solution, but they start from Panther (10.3). So: no dice
there either.

If you still are stuck, come back to the list, or try directly at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] where the mac users and developers are.
Good luck & don't give up (it's worth some effort to getrOOo on your machine)
