Anthony,
  Thanks for the help.

  I am in my spreadsheet which has the macro. I see it in
Tools->Macros->Organize Macros->OpenOffice.org Basic... and then
looking at the name of the spreadsheet:

ibd100->Standard->cptoa1

(NOTE: It would be FAR more intuitive to me if I could assign the key
here using the assign button but it doesn't seem to allow that. Why?)

  OK, so I now close all of this and go to Tools->Customize and the
Keybord tab. OpenOffice.org Macros shows two sub headings - '+user'
and '+share'. I expand both of these and do not find my macro name
anywhere yet.

  Much earlier on I had the macro on the machine and not in the
spreadsheet. I believe you helped me see that if I wanted to move the
macro with the spreadsheet I had to move it's placement into the
spreadsheet name in the Organize Macros area above. However now I have
the spreadsheet on a different machine and cannot see how to get the
key assigned.

  Sorry for my extreme density.

Thanks again,
Mark

Hi Mark,
To assign a macro, you want to select the category 'OpenOffice.org
Macros'. If you have a spreadsheet that contains macros open, that
spreadsheet will appear in the list below the category heading when you
expand it by clicking the plus sign or double-clicking the heading.
