I'd say you CAN, but I wouldn't.  I would, however, not waste any more money 
on M$'s software in the future.  I would also leave the Office software in 
place until you have converted and are happy that all your docs are like you 
like them.  If you have access to a PDF exporter, you could export them all 
as PDFs, then you COULD delete M$ Office.
