Hi Brian (and Roger),
I had to check this out because trashing any file without a warning, no matter how inept the user is, would be a software problem. I loaded a CSV file, added a second sheet, entered a few formulae in the new sheet and clicked 'save'. I got a dialogue waning me that the document may contain formatting or content that would be lost if saved in CSV format. I was given the choice to save in CSV or open document format that would save everything. There is a check box that would prevent this warning from appearing, so it is possible that Roger, or another user, checked this box. In either case, dialogue not appearing or warning ignored, I would have to call this problem one of user error, not a program failure.

If you create a new spreadsheet with more than one sheet and try to save it as a .csv file, Calc will warn you that you are saving only the active sheet. (I don't think this warning can be suppressed.) But it is true that if you open an existing .csv file in Calc and then add another sheet to it, Calc evidently assumes that you are already aware of the issue and does not warn you when you save the enlarged spreadsheet.

I trust this helps.
