[users] New user having problems opening MDB file with Bas

Greetings!!

I just installed Open Office 2.1  BASE onto my PC running XP.

I created a few MDB files using MS Access on another PC and then copied them to 
my PC.  When I try to open any of them, I always get the error:  

.../openoffice.org 2.1/Program/soffice.BIN           abnormal program 
termination

I also noticed that when I browse to choose a file I would see the MDB files 
ONLY if I choose 'all files'.  If I choose database files, I don't see any 
files.

Any ideas of how to open these MDB files?
