The Subscribe link is a direct mailto:
mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

There is no hint there of what they are posting to, unless the subscribe
msg sends back something (don't now as I use gmane & that requires
subscription and you know the lists are public). Also, I note that
section states "You must be subscribed to post messages"; if that were
actually the case in all instances, then we wouldn't have
unsubscribed/moderated questions at all. And the subscription process
message could clearly point out that the lists are public etc., prior to
the return confirmation mail. No added cost involved.
