Agree. It is here: http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html <quote> Introduction All our lists are public. They are not private message centers. Messages posted to them are carried by, among others, Gmane and Google. Therefore, consider carefully what you say: thousands if not millions may read your words. </quote> But not here: http://support.openoffice.org/index.html <quote> Users Mail List (Subscribe / Archives) OpenOffice.org Project community support provided by a network of hundreds of experienced users. You must be subscribed to post messages. </quote> The Subscribe link is a direct mailto: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] There is no hint there of what they are posting to, unless the subscribe msg sends back something (don't now as I use gmane & that requires subscription and you know the lists are public). Also, I note that section states "You must be subscribed to post messages"; if that were actually the case in all instances, then we wouldn't have unsubscribed/moderated questions at all. And the subscription process message could clearly point out that the lists are public etc., prior to the return confirmation mail. No added cost involved. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
