I wonder if this is an issue that's of actual importance. MS Excel's magical mystery file format is not the native file format for OpenOffice and accordingly OO must go through extra steps to import a foreign file that it would not have to do if it used the native OpenDocument format. After all, it does load, eventually. “The wonderful thing about a dancing bear is not how well he dances, but that he dances at all.” The time that it takes MS Excel to load an OpenOffice spreadsheet is, after all, infinite. Interestingly enough, though, I just loaded that file on my computer. It took OpenOffice 1minute 33seconds to open it. It took Gnumeric 6.3seconds to open the same file. I'm not sure that Gnumeric handled the macros correctly, or at all. I just loaded the file and closed it immediately. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Melville Sask ~ http://www.melvilletheatre.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
