Since microsoft and security are mutually exclusive
concepts, I'm not sure what you are referring to here.

The encryption algorithm used in OOo is far stronger than
any encryption algorithm used in any Microsoft product.
Furthermore, OOo does not contain the call home features
that microsoft products are riddled with.

It is far easier to create malware documents using MSO than
with OOo.   As such, even a hardened MSO installation is
more easier to attack than an unhardened OOo installation.

If you use any software created by, or distributed by
Microsoft then anti-virus software, and other anti-malware
software from a source other than Microsoft is mandatory.

If you use BSD then further anti-malware software isn't
required. If you use Linux, further anti-malware products
are recommended, but not required.

If you want to delete it first, you may do so.  If you want
to keep it, you may do so.
