Since microsoft and security are mutually exclusive concepts, I'm not sure what you are referring to here. The encryption algorithm used in OOo is far stronger than any encryption algorithm used in any Microsoft product. Furthermore, OOo does not contain the call home features that microsoft products are riddled with. It is far easier to create malware documents using MSO than with OOo. As such, even a hardened MSO installation is more easier to attack than an unhardened OOo installation. >Do I need my own anti virus scans, fire walls etc. If you use any software created by, or distributed by Microsoft then anti-virus software, and other anti-malware software from a source other than Microsoft is mandatory. If you use BSD then further anti-malware software isn't required. If you use Linux, further anti-malware products are recommended, but not required. > and should I remove MS office before installing your software? If you want to delete it first, you may do so. If you want to keep it, you may do so. xan jonathon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
