Your English is fine. Much better than my very limited Spanish ;).

Currently files saved in ooxml format (the default save format used by
MS Office 2007) can only be opened and saved accurately by some MS
software. Some earlier versions of MS Office can work with this file
format, by installing additional extensions or plug-ins.

You do not say why you need to open ooxml files (eg. docx). If these are
files being sent to you by other people, you should ask those people to
save and send them in the previous .doc format used by previous versions
of MS Office.

There are developers working on an extension which will allow OOo
(OpenOffice.org) to handle ooxml files. However, due to the complexity
of Microsoft's (not fully published) specification and their
non-standard xml implementation, this is going to be a difficult
process, which will probably take a long time to complete.

One such extension already exists and can be found here:
http://download.novell.com/SummaryFree.jsp?buildid=ESrjfdE4U58~
Personally, I would describe this extension as a prototype, because it
does not yet provide 100% compatibility and there are reports that it
fails to install/work with all OOo variants.

At the moment your best option is to ask whoever is sending you
documents created/edited in MS Office 2007, to use the "Save As..."
option and choose the previous format (eg. doc).

Another option is to request the people sending you documents to install
OOo, or the Sun ODF Plug-in 1.0 for Microsoft Office
http://tinyurl.com/3bn3ak and send you documents in ISO/IEC 26300:2006
OpenDocument format.

Hope this helps.
