OOo support lists are probably the last of the holdouts that
one need not subscribe, prior submitting a post to the list.

My approach would be:
* If the message is from gmane, then let it through;
* If the message is from a subscriber, let it through;
* From anywhere else, send a messages that points to the web
forums, list archives, documentation, FAQs, and how to
subscribe to the list;  Either this, or a separate message
will also contain a list of the ten most common posts to the
list, and the usual response to them;
* Convert the web based form for submitting questions to one
that subscribes the individual to the list;

The mailing list software should be able to handle the first
three situations. (I know I could set that up using
Majordomo, Smartlist, Listserv, or Mailman.)
