1. I'm not sure if this works but it might be what you want. Go to
Tools- autocorrect then click the Options tab and un-select "URL
Recognition" I'm not sure whether that leaves them underlined or not,
so you might need to set up a URL style that leaves them underlined.
2. Go to "Find And Replace" (Ctl- F) click "More options" and tick the
"Regular expressions" box. I'm not real clued up on the fine
points of regular expressions, so you might need to fiddle around a
bit to get it right.
In the "find" box enter the following /*[:digit:]{1,} leave the replace
box empty. My reading of the help file suggests that this should find
all occurrences of * followed by any number of digits, then replace
them with nothing. If there is a minimum nuber of say 3 digits that you
want to fnd replace the {1,} with {3,}
Take a look at the help item for Regular Expressions. It takes some
getting used to but is a very powerful find and replace tool.
