Option # 1 is to add the colours within OOo using the existing framework. This works for about five colours at a time; Option # 2 is to edit standard.soc. The downside of this approach is that you have to know the RGB colour codes; Option # 3 is to replace the existing standard.soc with one that has the colours you want. [Take a look at http://www.esnips.com/web/OOoRelatedThings for a couple of larger palettes. ]; Option # 4 is to talk somebody else into creating a custom palette for you; Frode wrote: >Some of the colors seem to be standard colors for some functionality in the program, like the colors used in graphs. Changing the colour palette will not change the appearance of OOo. To do that, one has to configure settings in OOo. Font colours in documents are retained, even if the colours are not found in the colour palette of the user. I don't remember if Calc graph colours are retained in the document, or not. > I don't know if there is a limit on the number of colors you can have. It depends on how much RAM the system has. I've used 16K colour palettes with no noticeable effects, except when creating/editing styles. In those situations, OOo crawls. OTOH, I don't use OOo for creating presentations or graphics, so I don't know if there is a slow down there, or not. I had a 64K colour palette, before a WinXP repair decided that the solution was to trash the MRB on the hard drive that had Linux on it, instead of repairing the MBR on the drive that has Windows on it. (WinXP on drive C. Linux on drive D. ) I've created, but not used a 16 million colour palette. Until I have a TB or more of RAM, I'm not going to test it on OOo. xan jonathon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
