I would expect that if you have deleted a paragraph, saved your work, closed
OOo, rebooted your PC, then it is safe, even from the FBI...

Unless of course there remain traces in the swap file.

Or there are fragments of the previous copy of the file.

Or the adversary has magnetic data-recovery tools.

Or the adversary is intercepting the RF noise emitted by your unshielded system, and interpreting it.

The answer is, if you want that level of security, don't use a PC. Get a security-certified **ix workstation, secure it physically, and include a self-destruct device -- a nice little thermite charge should do the trick.
