Take a look through the lists, there are a couple of posts about a
Java upgrade to fix the grayed out screen issues, and the control key
works where you would expect the command key to work --
I don't know how risk adverse you are, but the Aqua preview is pretty
good -- and I have yet to have it do anything nasty to me on my
Powerbook with 10.4.10 and it works without X11 ---
Thanks

I asked these several days ago on the OO forum and got no replies,
so I thought I'd try here:
I recently installed OpenOffice 2.2 on a Mac OS X box - and am new
to both.
- In OO Writer I managed to get the page background a desired
color, and the OO window border background another color. But
anytime a drop-down menu appears, everything is white, and the only
way I can see scroll bars, for example, is by the thin shadows they
cast on two sides. How can I change the background color on these
to make them more visible?
- In Writer, the menus are all listed with one letter underlined.
On PCs that menu item is accessed by using Alt-[letter], but on my
Mac the only thing that seems to work is clicking with the mouse. I
much prefer using the keyboard, and would like to avoid using the
mouse as much as possible. Is there a way to access the menus using
the keyboard?
Thanks.
