Not that I can think of regarding locales (they are an OS issue/setting,
OOo simply takes the settings from your system); except perhaps rename
your .openoffice.org2 profile to something else and allow OOo to create
a new profile for you.

Have you ever been able to print from OOo? How about to a virtual PDF
printer? Also, can you export PDF's and print-to-file PS's? If not I'd
recommend

1. You file a bug w/Debian: 1) your OOo is Debian specific and is out of
date and will not be accepted on the OOo trouble system,
2. Install 2.2.1 from OOo rather than use the Debian version.

See: http://www.8daysaweek.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=759

Basically the problem with running the outdated distro specific version
is that whatever you report here, or in the OOo bug database will get
thrown back to Debian (same for Ubuntu) for their resolution. Debian and
Ubuntu do not well document the modifications that they have made to
their OOo distro version (at least not that I can find).
As an example; the Ubuntu (debian) versions fail with just about any
wizard you attempt to use. On the otherhand, the Ubuntu version includes
some added filters that OOo Official does not. If you try to find how
Ubuntu added the filters and try to add them, they can't be found (at
least I've not been able to so far).
