I have never seen an service contract that actually prohibits the installation
of Free Software on a computer (and I have been involved with this stuff for
well over 30 years). It may make it more difficult to obtain warranty service,
and certain contracts may require payment for software on a per-CPU basis
regardless of whether the software is actually installed or used. However, I
have never seen a situation that actual damages would ensue from such activity.

Be that as it may, it is completely irrelevant to the point at issue.

OpenOffice is licensed for free for use on any number of computers in any
setting -- home, commerical, non-profit, what-have-you. That is the question
that she asked, that is the question that I answered. Nothing more or less.

Contract issues between individuals or companies are beyond the scope,
interest, and intent of Free Software and are by therefore definition excluded
from general discussions of Free Software such as OpenOffice.
