When I printed the labels for the first time, there was a warning,
that there is data from a database in the labels and if I wanted to
use that. Well I clicked on yes, but I also checked "Do not display
this warning again". So my question is, how can I get this warning
displayed again, without deinstalling OpenOffice2, deleting all the
Preferences in the Application Data an reinstalling OpenOffice2
There appears to no graceful way of doing this. Reinstalling
OpenOffice would not help, I think, though deleting the configuration
files would.
For a more delicate way of editing the configuration files back to
how you want them, see:
http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2006/10/how_to_get_the_.html
Since you appear to be using Windows, you will find the relevant
configuration file at Documents and Settings\<user>\Application
Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office\Writer.xcu,
where <user> is your user name. The above instruction suggests
changing the value of "AskForMerge" in Writer.xcu from "false" to
"true". Since it appears that the entry does not even appear before
you select the rogue tick box, another option would presumably be to
remove the entry for "AskForMerge" entirely. An even more extreme
possibility would be to rename the Writer.xcu file (so that you could
reinstate it if necessary) and then restart OpenOffice, hoping that
it would create a clean copy for you.
You need to close OpenOffice and probably the Quickstarter before
doing all this, of course. And you might want to keep a copy of
Writer.xcu in case it all goes wrong.
Oh, and remember never to tick that box again!
I trust this helps.
