Hello,
I purchased Open Office for 5 dollars from someone in Australia. Is this a legitimate purchase?? It seems a little strange. Do you know what happens after the trial period? Will it continue working? I hope someone can bring some light on my doubts. regards, Rocco

I have no idea. OpenOffice is *free* from www.openoffice.org That is to say it's free to download, free to use, free to enhance/change, free to give to other people and free to sell. There is no "trial period". It's free. Completely free. Forever. Including updates.

If you paid money to someone then contact them about what you bought. Whoever it was is not connected to us. Some people sell OpenOffice on CD and charge a nominal amount for the CD itself plus P&P. This provides a service to those with slow/unreliable/expensive internet connections. Other sell enhanced versions. Others sell it with consultancy and/or training and/or technical support; this may or may not be value for money. Others sell it because it's money for old rope; this is usually not good value for money; the word scam springs to mind but that might be considered slanderous so I won't say it.
