Hi all This evening I downloaded OOo to a Mandriva 2005LE machine. Moved the .tar.gz to /opt Unpacked with 'tar -zxvf ./whateveritwas.tar.gz' Went into the RPMS directory and as root ran rpm -Uvh *.rpm Went into the desktop-integration directory and did the same rpm options with the mandriva rpm. Tried to start OOo as a regular user from KDE menus and it failed to start. Tried to start OOo as regular user from Konsole and it failed to start with errors saying no such files for /etc/openoffice.org2.2/program/soffice and one other file that I forget.
When I had installed the rpms a directory 'openoffice.org2.2' had been created in /opt so I moved that to /etc and all seemed to work after. I've never seen OOo fail to start like that before. Anyone else seen that behaviour?
