I had exactly the same experience, even after going through the subscription process twice, and both times ending with the clear statement that I would soon receive a request for confirming that I was indeed the one who tried to subscribe. I even wrote two emails to one of the listed owners of the forum, one of which got the reply that she couldn't undestand what the difficulty could possibly be. The obvious conclusion is that the forum exists, if at all, only on the imaginary axis. You have to seek support elsewhere. On the other hand, I have found that people in this mailing list are friendly and willing to help.
