Hi, Shanoor: I had problems with my Mac OS X 10.4.10 as well. Here's what worked for me, but since we don't know what precisely you are doing, it may or may not help.
First, get rid of any traces of X11 installs and Oo that you put on your computer. Then, download the very latest updates from Apple for the operating system and X11 (it was in the one I did this past weekend). These latest updates also automatically installed (for me, at least) the latest and correct version of Java that needs to run on your computer. After you reboot and do all that neat stuff, reinstall X11 and Open Office. Good luck!
