Hi,

See this thread <http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/BrowseList? list=users&by=thread&from=1708803> for information on how to launch differenct 'aspects' of OpenOffice on the mac without using blank template documents, but rather actual shortcuts. Note: the solution given was lacking a final instruction to give execute permission to the newly created shortcuts.

Hope this helps

In W(ouch) I can place an icon for each on my desktop, in the quick start on the task bar, in my start button group, etc. I an also have a quick start for all OO modules in my system folder which is typically on the right of the task bar. I don't run Mac but you might try drag-n-drop, with the control key pressed to copy, since this was an Apple feature before Bill brought it to the pc's.

After poking around, I did find that you can launch Calc, Impress etc from the File New dialog in Writer however that seems kinda klugy to always need to run Writer first.
That's how it's done.
