[users] OpenOffice.Calc charting capabilities very limited compared to Excel. Why?

After downloading OpenOffice I tried & tried to make Calc charts representative 
of what I can do with MSOffice.Excel.  Was very disappointed in the quality of 
charts I was able to create.  MSWorks chart capabilities are far superior to 
OpenOffice.  Why has this area been so neglected?
