Is there a listing or someway of finding any pre-assigned special function keystrokes? Such as Alt-F4 to close window which I think is actually an OS function, but may be wrong.

What - in OpenOffice?

o Open a document of the appropriate type.
o Go To Tools | Customize... | Keyboard.
o Choose OpenOffice.org or the relevant component on the right.
o Scroll down in the "Shortcut keys" window to see the current assignments.

I trust this helps.

Yeh I had just remembered that seeing something like that previously. Blame it on the oldtimerz. I did run into another problem where it gave me warning that I was using the wrong JRE version or type and was stuck in a loop. Everytime I clicked on ok another window popped up with the same message. I was not able to do anything else, and finally had to kill -9 the process from console, thus loosing everything I had done to the sheet in the last hour.
*Lesson learned, when exploring save first explore next.
*I haven't checked yet to see which JRE OOo is using. I though I had removed the flavor that Fedora7 automatically installs. I know I installed JRE-6.x or whatever the latest version was when I switched from FC6 to F7 Any ideas if it is on the correct flavor/version?
