Are you sure your column is wide enough to display the number?
I just tried printing $3,000,000.00 and it printed fine.
If the problem isn't your column width, then try exporting to a PDF file
(File > Export as PDF) and see how it looks when you do that. If it
displays OK in the PDF, it sounds like some issue with your printer.
Maybe someone else on the list has some ideas then.
It would also be helpful if you gave your version of OpenOffice and your
operating system, if you respond again.
