This could be an OEM copy, which means the OP may have to go back to the hardware manufacturer and see if they can get a copy of that. But Richard does have a point. Depending upon what you are using Office for, it may be easier to convert the documents into Office 6.0 when you're going to give the results for your class. It's a bit of a kludge, but you can do it.

Re-install Microsoft from the original CD that you received when you purchased it.

Also, depending on the specific nature of the course you're taking, OpenOffice may be sufficiently compatible with MS Office 2003 that you can use it.
