Or when at the OO machine the file can be saved in a number of word .doc
formats which will have the .doc extension. I use presentation
regularly for class projects and save in powerpoint format for opening
on campus. I have had some issues with graphics (photos) displaying
properly on an XP word 2003 machine so exporting in .pdf format for
display/read only purposes seems the most reliable from OO to M$.

An open office file can has to be coverted into a MS compatible file.
This can be done by using going to File>Wizards>Document Converter and
convert the same into MS Word/Excel/Power Point Documents that can read
on MW Word/Excel/Power Point.
