You can't. There is no patch system; it would be too complicated and generate too many bugs to produce patches for all the different Operating Systems on which OO runs. To upgrade you need to download and install the complete suite. The very latest version, just released, is 2.3. I suppose that the "mainstream" version at the moment is 2.2.1 but a lot of people will still be using 2.0.4 If you don't want to download the software from the OO web site, you can buy it on CD from the same site. There's a list of suppliers there although we make no recommendations nor do we give any guarantees. Expect to pay not much more than USD10.00 to cover the cost of the CD plus P&P. Alternatively, OpenOffice is frequently distributed on the free CDs/DVDs that come with computer magazines. If you want us to try to help you, tell us the exact version of OO you are using and also which version of which Operating System you are using. Also, give full details of what you are doing and what happens, together with the exact text of any error messages. Don't attach files - screen shots or whatever - as usually they don't get through this list's security fence. If you want to show us things, put the files somewhere publicly available like your own web site or a free service like www.mytempdir.com and give us access instructions. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
