It's not a problem of laziness, it's a problem of what our target audience 
is - school kids, their parents, her grandmother, your Aunt Tillie, the 
company secretary, etc. 

Do you really believe that these people need to :
- understand mailings lists, 
- how to subscribe - with the confirmation
- and only then send a message to the list 

This raises the bar too high. 

Users you are not subscribed and send an email to [email protected] are 
ONLY allowed onto the list if the moderators deem the question relevant for 
this list - and there are hundreds of irrelevant spam, virus, and trojans 
which the moderators ignore daily.
