[users] After update the program will not open........

I was using OpenOffice 2.1 it worked fine.
Now I updated to OpenOffice 2.3.9221 and now when I double click the Icon on
the Desktop I get a comment:
        This action is only valid for products that are correctly installed.

I ran the "install" 3 times and get the same message. 

What am I doing wrong. ?
