I trust that most of the thousands of people who must be subscribed to this list will have the sense *not* to do this. I'm encouraged by the lack of response so far.
Whatever result you see will be unreliable and of no use for your purpose. Junk mail response rates of one or two percent are considered good: the actual number of subscribers may therefore be a couple of orders of magnitude greater than you will measure. If you want to know how many people are on the list, please enquire of the list administrators - off-list, of course.
