Hello Rob,

The Aqua version is quite OK, but some things do not work yet (see the
mac porting pages), and it is not advised to use it for 'serious'
work. I have it on my iMac and use the different versions as I like.
About permissions: can you log in as root/admin and try to install?
Though I wouldn't think that is the problem.
