Perhaps... but Fontwork was working in 2.2.1 and the Fontwork bug in 2.3 was known *before* the 2.3 release. In addition, there was some discussion in other forums whether to release with the bug in place. Ironically, a supposed fix was found (not sure yet if it is a complete fix) several days *after* the release of 2.3. Now that would be great new were it not for the fact that OOo doesn't issue patch fixes, so the bug will remain until 2.3.1 or some other such full download update is provided. Further, the bug also is in StarOffice 8/8 which is a 380+MB download for linux. My guess (and this is pure speculation/opinion on my part) is that the 2.3 release wasn't held back for the bug (and others) because the OpenOffice.org Annual Conference in Barcelona, Spain was opened at the same time. And what better way to kick of an OOo conference but to release a new/improved version of OOo? Some might say that the Fontwork bug isn't a show stopper... however since the release of 2.3 there already have been messages on this list that indicate that it is for users of OOo that use Fontwork for business purposes. As a result they have had to back down to 2.2.1.
